There are reports of a possible active shooter situation on the Fort Hood Army post, KCEN-TV is reporting.
Fort Hood has confirmed there has been "an incident" on the post and police are on the scene, according to Ryan Wood, a producer at WFAA Channel 8.
A U.S. Army official confirmed to NBC that a shooting has occurred on the post.
KCEN reports the shooter is said to be in the Medical Brigade building.
The post is currently under lockdown.
Fort Hood was the same base attacked in 2009 by then Maj. Nidal Hasan, who opened fire in a predeployment facility, ultimately killing 12 soldiers and one civilian.
